a few transfers

i cleaned a bit tonight- halle's breeder & halle's littermate monroe are staying with us tomorrow evening, so i thought i might at least wipe down the kitchen counters. things are pretty scary around here!

then i did a bit of work on the pieces i started a few weeks ago. the round piece is thin foam- who knows where it came from- and the transparency landed here & i thought it looked pretty cool, so.....

after an orange wash and before the caulk dries clear, here it is. pleased with the way that the transfer worked over the uneven surface- the round piece is thick enough that it could have been a problem, but it worked. once this dries i'll decide what else- maybe a blue glaze or sponging in places....

and another magnet, since i noticed a few more sold when last i was at the gallery. works for me!

i also finally wrote thank you notes to the people who purchased pieces over the past few months.

probably nothing from me tomorrow evening, as not only will we have company, but a band named The Devil Makes Three who we've been wanting to see will be in town and we're going out to do just that with some friends. yep, more live music- i'm good with that:)

thursday is first thursday, friday i need to get things ready for boise open studios, which is this weekend both saturday and sunday from noon-6. i am going over to pam's as the studio isn't done & the house is a wreck (its usual state, i'm afraid). the good thing is that it will be 2 entire afternoons of making art and hopefully i can get ahead a bit for next month's swap out (and to replace whatever i sell this month).

blogging could be sparse til saturday- but you never know!

Very nice, Marianne! I love the magnet too.

Yes, magnets are a good addition to your repertoire because they're not such a considered purchase for people wandering through. They can take home a magnet and remember the larger pieces they enjoyed looking at. But I do very much like the larger piece here!
Have a good weekend,
Janice.

Hi Marianne, We're back home from NM. Snow on the high peaks here. I love the foam piece. It reminds me of reeds and the Harvest Moon - esp. the colors which I know you'll change...
