board & plexi- and snow!

beautiful snowy day- love it- everything is clean and white and hushed.....

got a start on another board & plexi piece this evening. this is the black background covered with adhesive size for gold leaf. put it on, let it sit for 45- 50 minutes.....

in the meantime, i did a caulk transfer to plexi....here's the caulk spread out

and the apollo cg7039 transparency burnished on the caulk. you can see where there were goobies (yes, that's a technical terms) in the caulk where the white spots are on the bench. makes for a less than perfect end result. which is not always bad.

here's the image transferred to the plexi.....

and the transparency- you can see that all of the image came off- it was a bit bigger than the plexi, so the edges didn't transfer.

and then the gold leaf was put on & burnished.
i have an idea for this piece- we'll see how it ends up! i have long liked the photo of the bench, but couldn't come up with the right thing to do with it. i'm thinking of layering the images on the plexi with images on the board- in this case, maybe cactus flowers. be funny to look at this when the piece is finished & see if i'm even close :)
and now, to bed- off to phoenix bright & early!

Wow, this is so unique! I'm curious to see what happens with it! A nice thing to do on a snowy day...
