day 6 inversion

yep, another cold day with no sun. i was so tired after work i was tempted to nap. but then i thought- no- music, so i put on the pretenders, the vines, van halen, brmc and woke up a bit.... then i decided i really needed to play & to use some color.

first up was working on the centerpieces- so i got some swipes of gesso down to prepare for the gold leaf.

these are mom & sis' finished christmas gifts- and similar to what the finished pieces above will look like, now i just need to mail these...

scanned this one in- and added a layer of matte gesso- i think it will be done- then need to figure out if i should frame, etc....
and wip (works in progress). this is acrylic on watercolor paper- i wet the paper, dropped on fluid acrylic, wiped it down and added more layers. then i stamped an egg carton & other found items. this is a detail of an 11x14 sheet. not sure what i'll do from here- my first thought was to print something on it. wish it wasn't so warped....

and another piece of w/c paper with acrylic- here's the detail-

here's a photo- the colors are truer on the scan, but this is the whole pattern-

it was just fun to play, and to use bright colors. we'll see what happens from here.

lastly, this is rice paper on an 8x10 panel with some prussian blue wiped on. the card key (who knows what hotel is missing it, but i like the image & the colors on this). no clue where this goes next either. i'll probably have to look at it for a while....

and off to sleep- another gray day forecast tomorrow. better buy more red paint!

Really interesting results. The finished Christmas gifts for your mom and sister are beautiful.
Also love the paint on your face. Looks like art painting is not the only painting you are doing.
Happy second year on your blog!!!!
