back to tuesday painting

it's been a few weeks since we've done a tuesday... so i loaded everything and the kitchen sink- not very focused or planned out...

this is an alcohol transfer to multimedia paper- apollo transparency, not quite enough alcohol on the edges, but it came out pretty well...

and some work around the transfer- i think i will go with some textured gel medium for a frame- maybe see if i have any stamps that would work, or if there's anything i want to carve into a stamp... i love this image and it probably doesn't need a lot of embellishment- we'll see....
kristy had success using copies and gel medium to do transfers to wood- they worked out great. i think i need to practice on some smaller pieces...

got started on this- i think layers of paint added & wiped off and maybe depth thru stencils & some collage- maybe music, maybe thesaurus or dictionary- but a good start.

and trying a new background technique on board. from altered surfaces- using acrylic paints with gels, mediums, grounds & pastes. all sorts of fun stuff to try..... i am thinking that maybe i can make "frames" for some of the metal pieces by bolting or nailing to wood and finishing the wood as a frame, so we'll see how some of the background ideas work.

more play, more unfinished art work! oh well.....

I love the alcohol transfer. It's a great pic to start with. I think the texture might be very nice. I'm curious to see how it turns out. Thanks for dropping by my blog, too. I think joining http://thesecretisinthesauce.blogspot.com/ might be just the pick-me-up we need! I'll be back!
