beat!

i'll sleep when i'm dead.......

up, dog walk, to hyde park street fair so zella could meet echo (she love love loved him- and he collapsed in a happy pile of boneless bouve on her feet and gazed at her adoringly. but i made him come home with me anyway). and to drop off the transfer for her to see & think about how to frame. we talked about getting me some scraps to try some techniques & see what will work best. i am thinking that the bleach landscape photos might be sort of neat on copper.....

then with trace to fairfield to mark off places for lights, switches & outlets. one would think this wouldn't be rocket science, but it's more complicated than it seems..... and since there is only one hose bib outside, i suppose it's a good thing that i had input into this before it got that far....

then back to hpsf- briefly- to buy tie dye for my nephew. and home to the couch. b/c i will be at trailpalooza ALL DAY tomorrow. from 9:30 to 6:30. but i just have one week to go before i have 10 days in a row off, and a fun art class & then austin city limits & FAY and rob....

and a bit more time this evening thinking about images for the class.

here are some of them:

these are from seed scans i did a few years ago. and these are the resulting artworks- the top is 20x16, the bottom a 10x10 box. bottom sold, top available. both are collage/mixedmedia/whatever- photos on canvas with alkyd glazes. from what i've seen, encaustic feels very organic to me, so these seem a good fit. i will walk thru the garden to see what other interesting seeds are there- both to scan and to bring with me. i have feathers & bark & sea shells ready to go.

i printed the cranes on rice paper, and like them. printed directly on, since i didn't want the white of the digital ground. will try that too- i bet a cleaner print, but not sure that matters- not with this photo anyway....

love the tree image- i did a mixed media piece with this that sold at the wca show last year....

and the feathers are just interesting- saw them laying by the side of the trail. you can see they're small by comparing with the seed head in the upper right. maybe soemthing with other feathers.... or bird images

anyway- ta for now. good night's rest, up early...... woo hoo!
